The NYCLASS Governing Board is pleased to announce the establishment of NYCLASS Prime, a new investment option available exclusively to New York state counties. Established in response to an approved legislative change to General Municipal Law (GML) that further expanded the types of investment options available to counties throughout New York, the Board formally approved Prime during its regularly scheduled Board meeting held on November 19, 2021.
In cooperation with Public Trust Advisors (the NYCLASS Administrator and Investment Advisor), the Governing Board anticipates the establishment of the NYCLASS Prime portfolio in January 2022. Stay tuned for more information!
“We are excited to expand the services offered by NYCLASS and believe that the Prime portfolio will provide county finance officials with the opportunity to enhance their county’s investment management strategy by cooperatively investing in securities that are legal pursuant to GML,” said Robert Wheeling, NYCLASS Chairman.
